NURS 5370 Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Practicum II

This course provides clinical training in the full role of the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Emphasis is placed on the integration of two content areas: the knowledge and skills for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) practice; and the specific mental health needs of children and families. Clinical experiences, lectures, case discussions, and projects allow students the opportunity to develop competencies in the ethical, safe, collaborative, and evidence-based provision of mental health care to children, adolescents and families in the context of a changing health care system.
