1.2.5 Purpose and Responsibilities of the Vice President for University Advancement

A. Purpose

This document describes generally the responsibilities and organization of the office of the Vice President for University Advancement.

B. Duties/Responsibilities

  1. The Vice President for University Advancement shall plan, administer, and appropriately assess a program of public service and external support for the University, giving general supervision to improving relationships with its many publics and developing and increasing financial support through alumni, and other individuals, private and corporate donors, private foundations, and other sources.
  2. Specifically, the Vice President for University Advancement shall be responsible for coordinating fundraising activities and alumni operations, and represent the University as an ex-officio, non-voting member of the University of Texas at Tyler Foundation.

C. Organization

Administrative officials under the direction of the Vice President for University Advancement include the Director of Alumni Relations.

D. Review

This policy shall be reviewed and updated as necessary by the Vice President for University Advancement every five years or as the organization or responsibilities change.
