3.1.8 Graduate Faculty Appointments

A. Purpose

It is the purpose of this policy to provide guidelines on appointment to the Graduate Faculty.

Those faculty who teach graduate-level courses, advise graduate students, serve on thesis or dissertation committees, or otherwise participate in graduate education at U.T. Tyler must be members of the Graduate Faculty.

The purpose of graduate faculty credentialing is to ensure that graduate programs are supervised by faculty who are active in their own research/scholarship/creative activity.

F. Review

The Divisional Head for this policy is the Provost. This policy shall be reviewed every five years or sooner if necessary by the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs in consultation with the Faculty Senate.
